Corporate Social Responsibility

As a responsible corporate citizen in Sri Lanka, The Video Team conducts many projects that benefit the communities that we work with. Many of these projects coincide with the Company anniversary and every member of the TVT team shows great enthusiasm in putting a smile on to the face of someone less fortunate.

Our most recent project was at Ashokamala Kanishta Vidyalaya in Kadurupitiya, a remote village off Anuradhapura which had for many years faced the harsh brutality of the war. The TVT Team which handled the Deyata Kirula event in the neighbouring Oyamaduwa area saw the huge lack of facilities in the school and decided to make a difference. The school had only 3 teachers and the kids were from extremely poor backgrounds. The TVT Team not only donated shoes, school books, stationery and school bags, but also helped build a library for the school complete with book cupboards, books, tables and chairs and a reading hall.

In addition to all this, an art workshop was conducted by 3 lecturers of the Colombo University’s Arts Faculty for the students followed by an art exhibition. The TVT team also facilitated a drama staged by veteran artiste Parakarama Niriella’s drama team, which was attended to by all villagers. We hope to make this project a continuous one so that the children, the school and the village as a whole would benefit.
